The Science and Industry Museum has been awarded £4.3m by the Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to transform the museum’s environmental sustainability and place zero carbon technology is at the heart of the venue. 

History was made on 15 September 1830 when the first inter-city railway was opened. The Science and Industry Museum has undergone a programme of conservation repairs to the Grade 1 listed 1830 Warehouse, the world’s first railway warehouse and is the location for Sustainable Industry '22.
